Overview

SueChef is a personal project operated by Andrew Henkel that stores family recipes and shows them on a kitchen display. It is offered free of charge, by invitation only, to people the operator or an existing member knows. There is no fee, no subscription, and nothing to cancel.

Using SueChef means accepting what is on this page and in the privacy policy.

Your Account

  • Accounts are created by invitation. You may not share your account with anyone.
  • Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at suechef@klawiter.app if you think someone else has it.
  • Anyone in your household can read, edit, and delete that household's recipes. That is the point of a household — do not put anything in one that you would not want the others to see.
  • The kitchen display page is deliberately viewable without signing in, by anyone holding its link. Treat a display link as semi-public and do not post it where strangers can find it.

Your Content

Your recipes stay yours. SueChef claims no ownership of what you add and does not use it for anything beyond running the app for you — parsing it, displaying it, reading it aloud when asked, and suggesting things to cook from it.

Please do not upload:

  • Content you have no right to store or share, including copyrighted material you do not own.
  • Anything unlawful, or anything intended to harm the service or the people using it.
  • Sensitive personal information about anyone. It is a recipe box.

AI-Generated Content

SueChef uses AI to read recipes from photos and text, to estimate nutrition, and to write cooking suggestions. All of it can be wrong. Nutrition figures shown as an estimate are a guess, not a measurement, and none of it is dietary, medical, or food-safety advice. Check anything that matters — allergens above all — against the original recipe and your own judgement.

Availability

SueChef runs on one small server and is maintained in spare time. It may be slow, unavailable, or changed without notice, and features may be added or removed. Keep your own copy of any recipe you would be upset to lose; the library has an export, and paper still works.

Ending Access

You can stop using SueChef whenever you like, and ask at suechef@klawiter.app to have your account deleted. Access may be withdrawn for anyone using the service abusively or unlawfully, or if the project simply stops running — in which case members will be given reasonable notice and a chance to export their recipes.

Warranty and Liability

SueChef is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. It is a free personal project: the operator is not liable for any loss arising from using it, including lost recipes or downtime. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case only the ones the law permits apply.

Changes

These terms may change; the date above changes when they do. Continuing to use SueChef after a change means accepting the updated terms.
