SueChef quick guide

From recipe photo to kitchen display.

SueChef keeps adding and organizing recipes separate from the clean, read-only page used in the kitchen.

01

Start in the recipe library

The library is the home for recipes you have already saved. Use folders to browse, search across titles, change the sort order, or open a recipe in a larger reading view.

Recipe editing requires the household passphrase. After signing in, SueChef keeps that session on the device so you do not need to enter it on every visit.

02

Add one recipe

Choose Add recipe when one recipe comes from a photo, several photos of the same recipe, or a block of copied text. SueChef reads the source and prepares the title, ingredients, directions, timing, and other details it can identify.

Nothing is saved immediately. Review the result first, correct anything that needs attention, choose a folder, and then save.

03

Import several recipes

Use Import multiple when each photo represents a different recipe. SueChef processes each photo separately and reports what was imported, skipped, or could not be read.

One recipe spread across multiple photos? Use Add recipe instead and select all of those photos together.
04

Organize with folders

Browse the complete folder tree from the left side of the library. On a desktop, drag a recipe onto a folder to move it. On a phone or tablet, open Edit and choose the folder from the list.

Use Manage folders when you need to rename, nest, or remove folders.

05

Choose what appears in the kitchen

Select Show on display beside a recipe in the library. SueChef marks that recipe as active, and the kitchen display picks it up on its next refresh.

The display itself is read-only and intentionally does not use the editing login. That allows a DAKboard or similar always-on screen to reload it reliably.
